Palace Intrigue

Palace Intrigue is a set of cues based on small string sections playing in percussive styles; col legno (use the wood on the bow) , Bartok pizzicato (harsh plucks), and spiccato. The cues are sparse and minimalistic with a classical melody in the violas and some counterpoint in the violins. It feels sneaky and manipulative with a slight lean towards light drama or comedy. Inspired by commedia delÕarte, these cues underscore basic human interactions. Good for reality TV, especially characters who are plotting and devious or face a one on one competition. Palace Intrigue is full of Tick Tock rhythms using a very percussive string orchestra with drums added for impact. ÒPalace Intrigue,Ó is adventurous, formal, and light hearted.
